This race is in Honor
of, The Late Joseph DeJames,
who passed away on a Glacial mountaineering trip in the fall of 1997.
Joe lived by the Motto: "Live life to the fullest, Enjoy every day, Remember
good friends forever." Joe would have been 60 years old today, his birthday.
We Salute all the
great achievements of Joe and all that he stood for, a truly great man!
We thank you for taking part and Honoring
him. All race proceeds will go
to sholarship funds for troubled juveniles to help positively impact
their
future lives, a principle that Joe strongly believed in and applied
in his
daily life.

This race is hosted by RunnersMecca, the same group which brings you
the Morris Mauler 5k, Summer Screecher 5k, The Spring Equinox 20k , Winter
Solstice15k , and the Chill Out 10 mile events. Always a great event
on a great course with super refreshments and a good social venue for
runners. We hope you enjoy our event and have a good performance in the
run and enjoy the party after the race.
Race Starts 9:45, (arrive early)
Please allow enough time for Checking in, Bathroom break, stretching
after a good warm up, parking and walking to registration area(not necessarily
in this order...). Registration opens @ 8:00. Enjoy the day, no need
to rush your life away, come out, relax with the hint of racing in the
air and run your butts off and then enjoy our party atmosphere when you
are finished racing.

Take 287 to Exit 9 River Road. Take river road East (Towards Rutgers
University) to Johnson Park. Enter by the 2nd Entrance by the Horse Race
Track just past route 18. Registration is in the Bandshell starting @
8:00.

Take Route 18 to River Road, just along the Raritan River on the Rutgers
Stadium side of the river. Head towards Highland park on river road and
enter by the 1st Entrance, by the Horse Race Track, just past route 18.

Directions (by train)
Take the North East Corridor Train to the New Brunswick Station. It is
less than a 5 minute cab ride to the Johnson Park. It is just over the
raritan river in a beautiful park setting for a race course.
Lightning Fast race course.
This racing course is nearly perfectly flat and runs alongside of the
raritan river along newly paved park roads and bike paths. It makes one
full circumference of the park roads and paths. Starts and finishes near
the bandshell just next to the large parking area near the horse training
track.

Awards @ 10:45
Top 3 overall Male and Females. Age Groups: 11 and under, 12-14, 15-16,
17-19, open 20-34(for those after overall winners) , 35 and up in 5 year
increments to 80+.
Post Race Party
Plenty of food, sports drink, beer, snacks, etc immediately following
the race. There will be a post race happy hour @ a local establishment
also after the event.
Post Registration accepted
We will accept all post-registrants up until 9:15 @ a fee of $30. Pre-register
by mail or online to save money. If "T" shirts run out, fee
will be lowered to $25 or you may elect no shirt entry for $25.
Fees
All NJ usatf members receive $2 discounts for pre-registrations. All
others $25 with post registration @ $30.
